Story 1:  A Family’s Decision on Their New House Paint Color Accidentally Goes Viral

Why pick a new color to paint your house on your own when you could leave the decision up to millions of strangers?

A guy named Brian Landreth in Portland, Oregon was working with his daughter Grace on a school project about collecting data.  So they put five paint colors on the side of their house, then put a sign up asking people to vote for a color online.

But . . . their neighbor tweeted a picture of the project and said, quote, “My neighbor is crowdsourcing their next house color.”

And the tweet went viral.  So now, thousands of people from all over the world are voting on the paint color.

Based on the comments on Twitter, it seems like turquoise blue is leading.

Story 2:  A Drunk Driver Crashes Into a Pond of Liquid Manure and Is Stuck There for Hours

THIS is some textbook instant karma right here.

A guy in Sacramento County, California was driving drunk on Monday when he swerved off the road and crashed into a pond.  And not just any pond.  A LIQUID MANURE storage pond at a dairy farm.

The guy was stuck in the pond for TWO HOURS before firefighters came and pulled him out.  He’s facing DUI charges.

Story 3:  The Top Five Social Media Posts That Can Cost You a Job

79% of businesses have rejected a job candidate for something they posted on social media, according to a recent poll.  Here are the top five things that could cost you a job . . .

  1. Hate speech. Including negative comments, or being a member of a group that discriminates.
  1. Pictures of heavy partying or drug use. So make sure there’s nothing on there from your college days.
  1. Illegal or illicit content. That could be anything from animal cruelty to pornography.
  1. Poor grammar. No one expects you to write every Facebook post like it’s an English essay.  But glaring mistakes could get you passed over.
  1. Confidential or sensitive information about other companies you’ve worked for. It shows potential employers that you can’t be trusted.  And badmouthing a former boss on social media isn’t a good look either.
