Story 1:  Football-Scented Candles Are on Sale . . . Including “Nachos” and “Jockstrap”

Football is back, but the odds of most of us going to a game are low.  So if you want to get a little piece of that gameday experience at home . . . maybe this will work?

A company that’s owned by Anheuser-Busch called Babe Wine just created three football-scented candles.  One smells like an artificial turf field . . . one smells like nachos . . . and one smells like a JOCKSTRAP.

If you’re interested, a three-pack of candles costs $69.

Story 3:  A Woman Is Busted Cutting Off Her Hand for the Insurance Money

Go big or go home when it comes to insurance fraud, I guess.

There’s a 22-year-old woman named Julija Adlesic in Ljubljana, Slovenia.

And early last year, she went to the hospital with a bad gardening accident . . . she’d accidentally lopped off her LEFT HAND with a saw.  Surgeons were able to re-attach it, but obviously it doesn’t work like it used to.

After the accident, Julija filed claims with five insurance companies.  She’d gotten policies with all of them about a year earlier . . . and she was looking at a total of about $1.2 million.

But, after an investigation, it appeared she’d cut off her hand ON PURPOSE for an insurance scam.

There were a lot of inconsistencies in her story . . . plus, a few days before the accident, her boyfriend had searched online about how artificial hands work.

On Friday, Julija was sentenced to two years in prison for insurance fraud.  Her boyfriend got three years in prison for apparently masterminding the scam and convincing her to do it.
