Story 1:  Should You Put Your Sheets in the Freezer to Stay Cool at Night?

Do people really do this in summer, or is it just internet nonsense?  A bunch of websites claim you can beat the heat and get to sleep faster by leaving your sheets in the FREEZER for 30 minutes before bed.

“The New York Times” even did something on it a few years ago and said it’s worth a shot.  But one expert says it’s NOT a good idea.  Here’s why . . .

First, it’s a hassle.  You have to take your frozen sheets out of the freezer and put them on right before bed.  So that’s a lot of bed-making if you do it every time it’s hot out.

It also comes across as the kind of thing an INSANE person would do.  So be ready to defend your decision if someone asks why your bedding is in the fridge.

But the main reason is . . . it doesn’t really work that well.  Yes, your bed might be nice and chilly at first.  But it won’t last long.  And it can make your sheets slightly MOIST.

While they’re in the freezer, they’ll pull a tiny bit of moisture from the air.  It can even happen if they’re in a bag, so you’d almost need to vacuum seal them.  And once they heat up, the added moisture will actually make you HOTTER.

He says a better idea is to use a fan, or buy different sheets with as low of a thread count as possible.  The lower the thread count, the more they’ll breath.

Story 2:  Rinsing Dishes Before You Put Them in the Dishwasher Will Make Them Less Clean?

This is about as win-win as it gets:  You can do a better job washing the dishes by being LAZIER.

According to a cleaning expert in Australia, you should stop rinsing dishes before you put them in the dishwasher . . . because that could make them wind up LESS clean.

Here’s why.  Most modern dishwashers have sensors that figure out just how dirty the dishes are, and then adjust things like water temperature and jet pressure to match.

So when you rinse off your dishes, even though they’re still pretty dirty, the dishwasher senses that they’re clean and only uses a light wash.

The advice:  Instead of rinsing them, you should scrape off solid food before you load the dishes, but that’s it.

Story 3:  A Woman’s Marble Cutting Board Accidentally Featured Marbled Genitalia

You know how people see Jesus’s face in all sorts of strange places?  This is like the Freudian version.

A 21-year-old woman named Georgia Rogers from Arkansas recently ordered a white cutting board with a marbled finish from Amazon.

And when she got it, the marbling looked . . . well, it looked EXACTLY like male genitalia.

And this apparently wasn’t a prank . . . the marble pattern somehow just randomly took that shape.  Georgia says she’s keeping the cutting board.
