NSAA Allows Sport Camps, Clinics, Summer Leagues

By News Jun 11, 2020 | 4:13 PM

The Nebraska School Activities Association says member schools can begin camps, clinics, and summer leagues for most sports next week.

The NSAA will allow the camps, clinics, and summer leagues for all NSAA sanctioned activities except basketball, football, soccer, and wrestling. Those sports will be allowed to hold open gyms with restrictions: individual skills and workouts only, no physical contact with others, no sharing of equipment, and no grouping of students.

The current Directed Health Measure through June allows for limited and non-contact sports to begin competitions June 18. That is the same date the NSAA is allowing the camps, clinics, and summer leagues to begin.

The NSAA added that if a new DHM is enacted that the requirements and sports allowed would be adjusted.
