Social distancing doesn’t have to ruin your weekend… here are 5 things you can do instead…

If you’re stuck at home trying to help prevent the spread of coronavirus, here are 5 things you can do with your extra time this weekend . . .

  1. If you’re a foodie . . . Get takeout from a restaurant you’ve been wanting to try.  Make a recipe you’ve had bookmarked forever.  Or look for new recipes to make once things settle down.
  1. If you’re a sports fan . . . Read up on the history of your favorite sport or team, so when they start playing again, you’ll have an even greater appreciation for it.  Revisit an old game, like on TV or YouTube.  Or watch a sports documentary.
  1. If you’re into culture . . . Take a virtual museum tour, like the ones on Google’s Arts & Culture page.  Read books or watch movies you never had time for before.  Or try learning a new language.
  1. If you’re an extrovert or busybody . . . Host a virtual happy hour with your friends.  Break out board games and puzzles to do with your family.  Or try something artsy, like painting or an adult coloring book.
  1. If you just want to relax . . . Meditate.  Take a bath.  Or just take a nap.

Does this hack work? Try ordering your pizza uncut…

Has anyone tried this hack?  Apparently it makes a big difference when you order pizza.  Especially pizza with really good crust.

The next time you order, ask them NOT to cut it into slices.  Here’s why . . .

As soon as they cut it, the oil and sauce start dripping down and soaking into the crust.  So by the time it gets to you, the crust is much soggier than it was when they took it out of the oven.

Apparently it makes a bigger difference with higher-end pizza.  It doesn’t matter as much at places like Domino’s where the crust is already kinda soft.  (That said, the Domino’s website has a tab that makes it easy to order your pizza “uncut.”)

If you don’t have a pizza cutter at home, there are some cheap ones on Amazon for about ten bucks.  Or just use a big knife or kitchen shears.

After almost two decades, police say they’ve finally caught a local flasher…

For almost two decades now, Cascade Township has been dealing with a serial FLASHER.  This guy would expose himself on people’s porches or in front of businesses, knock on the window, then start going to town on himself.

And somehow, the cops never caught him.

Until he FINALLY slipped up.  In the past few months, he’s been targeting one woman in particular.  She had security cameras, which helped the cops get his license plate.

And last week, they finally arrested 54-year-old Steven Pastoor.  He confessed to all the flashing that’s been going down since 2003.  That means when he started, he was in his mid 30s.

He’s been charged with indecent exposure as a sexually delinquent person . . . and if he’s convicted, he’ll be in prison until it’s determined he’s no longer a threat, which could mean the rest of his life.

Also, another survey asked if this is putting extra STRAIN on people’s relationships with everyone they live with.

21% of people who live with at least one other person say there’s more strain . . . versus just 4% who say there’s less.  61% say things are the same.

Random facts to feed your brain…

  1. The air in a bag of potato chips is actually nitrogen, not oxygen . . . it keeps the chips from going stale.
  1. Lamborghini originally made tractors and air conditioners before they got into cars.
  1. Sardines aren’t actually a species of fish. There are at least 22 different types of fish that are used to make sardines.
  1. There’s only one person who’s played in a World Series AND the Masters Tournament in golf.  Sammy Byrd played with the New York Yankees when they won the World Series in 1932, then quit to play golf.  Then he won 11 tournaments and finished third at the Masters in 1941.
  1. Kryptonite was invented by the people behind the Superman radio show in 1943, so Superman could just groan in pain for a few episodes . . . and the voice actor who played him could finally take a vacation.
