KEARNEY — The Nebraska Department of Transportation announced that Interstate 80 east from Wyoming is now open, while the westbound lane remains close at Kearney to the state line.

NDOT announced at 10 a.m. that I-80 eastbound is open from Wyoming.

Crews are still working to open I-80 west from Kearney to Wyoming as soon as possible.

“In preparation for the reopening of I-80 at MM275, commercial truck traffic is staged along the Kearney East Expressway. We anticipate an influx of commercial truck traffic along 2nd Ave at MM272 interchange and the MM275 interchange,” the Kearney Police Department stated.

“Reminder to turn off cruise control and reduce speed as roads may be snow packed or icy. Remember don’t crowd the plow,” NDOT stated.
