NWS Peace Program
April 30, 2014

Name of Program: NWS PEACE Program

Details of Program: NWS PEACE Program is a non-profit and Department of State approved program seeking caring families in our area to host high school age international exchange students! These students are now available for "adoption" for 5-12 months. Students come with medical insurance and spending money. You provide a loving home, care and guidance, 3 meals a day, a bed, and an experience of a life time for your family as well as the student!

There is no such thing as a typical host family! Whether you're a single parent, retired, have small children, teens, or no children, you can have a great experience hosting an international teen!

Why should your family host an exchange student?

  • - to learn about another country and the customs of its people
    - to teach a young adult about the customs of Americans
    - to experience being a parent to an adolescent
    - to learn about your own cultural heritage
    - to create an opportunity to travel abroad
    - to expose your children to a different culture
    - to promote world peace

Host families provide a nurturing home-life for a high school-age international teen for 5 to 10 months while the student attends the local high school.

Host families are volunteers who share their hearts and homes. Families are expected to provide:

  • - a safe and loving environment
  • - a bedroom with storage space (a student can share a room with another teenager)
  • - meals
  •

  • - reasonable transportation to/from school activities.

Start the wonderful world of cultural exchange - contact NW Services and have one of our local coordinators answer all your questions and show you some of our available students.

This year's charity is Camp Hot Shots - Central Nebraska.

Early Registration:
http://tinyurl.com/grower2014app

At the end of the growing season, we have Stache Bash, a mustache-themed costume party during which we crown the winner of the coveted "Sweetest Stache" and hand out other awards that are cherished by the recipients. So it's all pretty simple: mustache, charity, and competition infused with meaningless pageantry. You can spare four weeks of your life for that.
