Garth Brooks’ Dive Bar Tour…

Odds are you know who Garth Brooks is even if you loathe country music like Dave. Well, Garth is taking a break from stadiums and is doing a short Dive Bar Tour.  Can you imagine if GARTH came to the Tri-Cities?!

The first show is next Monday, July 15th, at Joe’s Bar in Chicago, and it’ll air that night on “Jimmy Kimmel Live”.  Details of the other six shows will also be announced on Monday.

Instagram will now warn you if you’re about to leave a mean comment…

Do people write HORRIBLE things on social media because they don’t REALIZE those things are horrible?  Probably not . . . all the trolling I see feels a lot more intentional than that.  So I’m skeptical about how effective this will be . . .

Instagram just announced a new plan to cut down on bullying.  They’re going to recognize when you’re writing something MEAN and let you know.

They’re starting to roll out a new AI feature that analyzes the comment you’re about to post and lets you know, “Hey, this isn’t very nice.”

In the example they shared, someone wrote a comment saying, quote, “You are so ugly and stupid” and Instagram responded, quote, “Are you sure you want to post this?”

Instagram is also planning another feature to try to make their social network less toxic by letting you mute comments from different users without those users getting notifications they were muted.

Will any of this actually work?  It all feels pretty naïve and idealistic, but the head of Instagram says they’re really trying to keep the conversations more civil because bullying, quote, “could hurt our reputation and our brand over time.”

From the head of Instagram, Adam Mosseri (@mosseri): “We know bullying is a challenge many face, particularly young people. We are committed to leading the industry in the fight against online bullying, and we are rethinking the whole experience of Instagram to meet that commitment. We can do more to prevent bullying from happening on Instagram, and we can do more to empower the targets of bullying to stand up for themselves. Today we’re announcing one new feature in both areas. 💙 Encouraging Positive Interactions In the last few days, we started rolling out a new feature powered by AI that notifies people when their comment may be considered offensive before it’s posted. This intervention gives people a chance to reflect and undo their comment and prevents the recipient from receiving the harmful comment notification. 🧡 Protecting Your Account From Unwanted Interactions With Restrict We wanted to create a feature that allows people to control their Instagram experience, without notifying someone who may be targeting them. Soon, we will begin testing a new way to protect your account from unwanted interactions called Restrict. 💛 It’s our responsibility to create a safe environment on Instagram. This has been an important priority for us for some time, and we are continuing to invest in better understanding and tackling this problem.” 💗 To learn more about these new updates, click the link in our bio. Another ice cream licker has been arrested…

This just CANNOT become a trend.

In case you missed it, a 17-year-old girl went viral over the weekend after a video showed her LICKING some ice cream at a Walmart in Texas and then putting it back in the freezer (click here for more).

Turns out that’s felony tampering, and it can get you two to 20 YEARS in prison.

And even though that’s a STEEP punishment . . . being Internet famous for 12 seconds is clearly worth two decades in prison, so the copycats have started.

A 36-year-old guy named Lenise Martin from Belle Rose, Louisiana was just arrested after a video showed him taking ice cream out of the freezer at a grocery store, taking off the lid, licking it, and putting it back.

Lenise told the cops he wound up buying the ice cream, and it looks like he did . . . but he was STILL arrested for unlawful posting of criminal activity for notoriety and criminal mischief.

A family brawl broke out at Mickey’s Toontown at Disneyland…

It’s a sad day when adults find a way to ruin DISNEYLAND for kids.

On Saturday, a family was at Disneyland in Anaheim, California . . . and got into a brawl right in the middle of Mickey’s Toontown.

Someone took a video of the whole thing, and it involves men and women punching and attacking each other . . . all in front of kids and other families.

Apparently all of the people who fought are related to each other . . . although we don’t know what the exact relationships are.

The police eventually came and the entire family was kicked out of the park.  The city attorney’s office says charges will be filed once the police wrap up their investigation.

  1. And our fondest bathroom memories are baby’s first bath . . . potty training your kid . . . and teaching them to shave.
