The bomb cyclone storm of March 2019 I think will be remembered in Nebraska folklore like the Blizzards of 1888 and 1948-49. This storm was essentially a land hurricane with deep low pressure reading of 970mb in Lamar CO. Pueblo saw it’s barometric pressure record of 976.6 back in 1893 reset with this storm. This had all the ingredients to do the damage that it did because of the cold snowy winter, strong moisture plume from the Gulf of Mexico ahead of the storm and the frozen ground that prevented much of the rain from being soaked up by soil. Unfortunately it will take sometime to repair the damage left by this storm but we Nebraskans will get it done and Rise Up!
